James Walsh (5th Dan)

Mr. James Walsh studied under Mr Joe Palanzo beginning in 1991, and earned his First Black from Mr Palanzo in January of 1997. Mr Walsh has performed numerous community demonstrations and school presentations.

Tournament Accomplishments:

  • 2nd Place in Advanced Belt Sparring - Joe Palanzo's Intramural Tournament, 1994
  • 3rd Place in Advanced Belt Sparring - John Burdyk's Maryland Open Tournament, 1995
  • 4th Place in Black Belt Sparring - Best of the Best Maryland Tournament, 1997 was Head Referee of the 1997 National Junior Fighting Team competition, and has taken part in numerous community demonstrations.

Coaching Accomplishments:

  • Assisstant Coach, Joe Palanzo's Junior Black Belt Demo Team - 1st Place WKKA National Demo Team Competition, 1997
  • Assisstant Coach, Joe Palanzo's Junior Black Belt Demo Team - 2nd Place WKKA National Demo Team Competition, 1998
  • Head Referee - WKKA National Fighting Team Competition, 1997

He has also survived the RMCAT Adrenal Stress Course, allowing him to place real-world emphasis on his Kenpo.

Robert Clement (4th Dan)

Mr Clement received his 4th Black from the Mid Atlantic Karate Alliance in March of 2008.

A student of the arts since 1983, Mr. Clement is loved by the parents and children alike for his wry sense of humor and relentless pursuit of the karate ideal.

Tony Chapolini (3rd Dan)

Mr. Tony has been with us since he was six years old, giving him a unique perspective on teaching children. We are all proud of and impressed with his skills and dedication.

Steve Hom (2nd Dan)

Mr. Steve is one of the kid's favorite instructors, and has been with the school since shortly before time began. His unique style and energy make all of his classes one of a kind!

Mr. Bilal is a life-long devotee of martial arts, and has been with us for many years. His patience on the mat is legendary.

Mr Max has been a part of our Kenpo Ohana since 1999, and continues to teach and learn every chance he gets.

Mr. John is an avid Ravens Fan, and loves doing karate with his daughter. He is one of our most patient and easy-going instructors.

Mr. Jerry is a work out beast, he loves his Kenpo and his workouts...and his Harley...and bacon...and... He has been teachning with us since 2010, and has his sights set on Black Belt.

Ms Courtney is an original member of our Leadership Team, and spends her Saturdays helping Mr Steve and defeating evil on her DS.

Donald Wong (2nd Dan)

Mr. Don is a product of our Kenpo Instructor Training program. One of the many who began their Kenpo journey years ago, only to restart later in life - his kenpo demonstrates his analytical nature and keen grasp of principals. Mr Don was promoted to Black Belt at the 2004 WKKA Camp in Baltimore.

Jessica King (2nd Dan)

Ms Jessica is a graduate of our Kenpo Instructor Training program. She is a Black Belt Schools International certified instructor, and a graduate of the UP Instructor College.
Ms Jessica earned her Black Belt in April of 2005, and was certified at the WKKA National Camp in October of that year.
She has also received a Letter of Commendation from the Governor of Maryland for her participation in Asian Pacific Heritage Month.

Robert Weeren (2nd Dan)

Mr. Austin is a product of our Kenpo Instructor Training program. He has been teachning with us since 2008, and hopes to achieve True Ninja status soon.

Jennifer Levi (3rd Dan)

Ms. Jennifer is a collegiate level teacher, as well as top-flight Kenpo instructor. She quit competing shortly after her first first-place tournament win, preferring to focus on her studies and the real-life application of Kenpo she learned during her RMCAT course.
